ICA Studio Oversees the Construction of New Biomethane Plants

ICA Studio is continuing its construction supervision activities for plants designed to produce biomethane from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW), agricultural by-products and food industry waste.

These facilities represent a strategic investment in the energy sector, as they make it possible to produce renewable energy by recovering organic materials that, rather than being treated as waste, are converted into energy. The environmental benefits are tangible: reduced reliance on fossil fuels, lower emissions and more efficient, circular management of the resources available within the local area.

The projects are located in the provinces of Mantua, Pavia, Verona, Piacenza, Livorno and La Spezia. In these areas, ICA Studio works alongside major national and international public and private organisations throughout the entire authorisation and construction process. Once fully operational, the plants will inject more than 48 million cubic metres of biomethane into the public gas grid every year.

By replacing conventional fossil fuels, the facilities will also prevent more than 170,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

All the projects are currently at an advanced stage of construction and are scheduled for completion by the second half of 2026.
